SENIOR CARERS VISA

Senior care workers routinely oversee and monitor care workers, care assistants and home carers. They also attend to the personal needs and comforts of the elderly and the infirm with care and support needs (‘service users’) within residential care establishments, day care establishments or in their own homes.

To promote the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice rights and fulfilment for all residents, within a policy of managed risk taking. Ensure residents have activities that they can participate in according to their individual needs and choices that assist them in maintaining their lifestyle and independence. Ensure all medications, including controlled drugs are administered, recorded, maintained and replenished at all times consistent with the Trust policies and procedures on drug administration. Participate in the implementation of new developments to meet the changing needs of older people.

Health and Care Visa is a specific visa that is aimed at professionals from the namesake field – The health industry. Health Carer Visa allows the candidates to live and work in the UNITED KINGDOM (UK).

Healthcare professionals can: –

Work in an eligible job.

Do voluntary work.

Take on additional work under certain circumstances.

Continue with their studies

Bring their partners and children as dependents

The Candidate can also apply to settle permanently in the UK (also known as Permanent Residence or Indefinite leave to remain’) if the Candidate has lived in the UK for five years and meet the other eligibility criteria. At the same time, unlike the citizens of the UK, the candidates will not have recourse to public funds or state pension.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERION: –

The candidate has to be a qualified Doctor, a General Nurse, Other Health Care Professional or Social Care Professional.

The candidate should have experience in a health or social care job.

The applicant can work for a UK employer who has been approved by the Home Office.

The aspirants need to have a ‘Certificate of Sponsorship’ from the employer that details his or her role that has been offered.

The job-seeker should be paid a minimum salary – depends on the type of work.

The candidate should have a confirmed job offer before you the application for the visa is processed.

 

Language Proficiency – A paramount requirement:

Candidates must also possess the ability to speak, read, write and understand English at least level B1 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale. Candidates can prove their language proficiency by, appearing for a Secure English Language Test (SELT) from an approved provider. Having a GCSE, A level, Scottish National Qualification level 4 or 5, Scottish Higher or Advanced Higher in English.

Having a degree-level academic qualification that was in English – if the Candidate has studied abroad in an English-speaking country, he or she will have to apply for confirmation through UK NARIC that their qualification is equivalent to a UK Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or PhD.

Duration of Health and Care Visa:

The health and Care Visa can last up to 5 years, after which the candidate needs to extend it. The Candidate must then apply to extend or update your visa when it expires or if you change jobs or employer.

Also, importantly, after 5 years, candidates may be able to apply to settle permanently in the UK (also known as ‘indefinite leave to remain’). This gives them the right to live, work and study here for as long as they like, and apply for benefits if they’re eligible.
