A workforce solutions provider reveals an increase in Canadian employment rates, PEI invites 155 applicants to apply for nomination while Ontario invites 222 more Canadian Experience Class applicants are selected from the Express Entry pool.

IRCC announces new measures to offer transparency to the application process and the federal government announce investment in immigration to Sudbury, Ontario.

Canadian employment has increased by 351,300 jobs from March to April 2021, a continuation of an upward trend of remarkably high employment rates in Canada. While during the height of the pandemic, employment rates were at a critical low, numbers have since spiked and plateaued as April records the third month straight of gains.

The lack of acknowledgment from the IRCC after months of delay is likely one of the contributing factors to the influx in ATIP requests. Many applicants request the notes in hopes of finding the root of the delay and moving their application forward.

In the Budget 2021 released by the Canadian Government on April 19th, 2021, as part of their Recovery Plan for Jobs, Growth, and Resilience after the shattering effects of the COVID 19 pandemic, Canada’s immigration system has been identified as a core component in our economic strength.

As such, the budget 2021 highlights key areas in need of development to ensure Canada’s competitiveness and is putting in motion steps to ensure the resumption and growth of global travel, post-pandemic.

5 areas in need of attention and development were identified in the Budget 2021 report. These are:

  • Streamlining Express Entry
  • Accelerated Pathways to Permanent Residence
  • Enhancing the Temporary Foreign Worker Program
  • Supporting Racialized Newcomer Women
  • Delivering a Modern Immigration Platform
